Transport Express supports multiple parallel development environments, commonly known as 5 System Landscape, so Business As Usual and multiple project systems can be managed alongside each other.

Due to the conflict detection capabilities no object level locking between development systems is required therefore allowing a greater capability for change with no change freezes at project go-lives.

All environments can be automatically aligned using the Transport Express merge process where the changes across environments can be assessed and managed.

Dynamic Overtake, Overwrite & Problem Detection

With large SAP projects and distributed development teams and partners it is often common to find overlapping transports with changes to the same SAP objects. These must be carefully managed to ensure that changes are not lost and that the correct version of each object is maintained.

Transport Express automatically detects and prevents overtake and overwrite situations thus leading to a reduction in rework, faster testing cycles and production system protection.

In addition, it is often the case that several transports are required to deliver a solution for a business need. Transport Express ensures that all transports relating to each requirments are connected and moved together.

Assisted Transport Sequencing

It is imperative that when changes are moved into SAP environments they are moved in the correct sequence so that dependencies between transports can be maintained.

Transport Express fully manages the transport sequencing to ensure that changes are moved in the correct order and system integrity is continued.

Any out of sequence transports are automatically managed and reported according to the rules defined for each system. For example, it is possible for Transport Express to copy the same transport sequence as a previous test system to ensure that what has been tested and signed off is replicated when moving changes into regression and production systems.

Despite the best efforts to correctly manage changes into systems there will always be the situation where a transport has been imported accidentally or in error often resulting in system downtime or expensive and time consuming rework.

Transport Express has the ability automatically to backup all objects that are about to be changed before they are imported. In the event that an error is introduced, the previous system state can be restored by importing the backup transport. The result being that changes are 'undone' or backed out in the order in which they were transported.

Transport Express has the ability to synchronize changes across environments. This allows for systems to be compared and for missing transports to be identified to allow the rapid deployment and build of systems. This can be used to check and build your test and training systems after system refreshes.

This feature is perfect for Virtualized Cloud environments. Environments can be brought up and quickly analyzed to check which Transports have been applied to other systems during the time that the Cloud Environment has been 'down' and assess the impact of applying a given set of transports. Transport Express' analysis and problem detection ensures system integrity, enabling User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and End User Training for example to be carried out of accurate system representations.
