Basis Technologies was founded in 1997 as an SAP technical consultancy and in 2003 Basis Technologies International was formed offering the newly developed Transport Express solution - filling a gap in standard SAP functionality to manage SAP changes and transports in a more effective manner. The company rapidly acquired new clients including: Ericsson, Citipower, Water Corporation, Warman and UK client Centrica using Transport Express to manage their SAP changes more safely and ultimately, creating a lower cost, more response SAP Development environment.

In addition to Transport Express Basis Technologies offers two other SAP add on products, Mass Data Runtime – which can be installed in just a few days instantly boosting the performance of critical SAP ABAP programs and processes by up to 300 times using distributed processing.
