Alstom selects Transport Express to assist in the management and release strategy of a Global SAP business template 10th August 2007 |
| |
Alstom is undergoing an SAP global template and release strategy, delivered over several years country by country. There was a need for a tool to assist in the delivery of change and support of this release strategy. The strategy is in fact a country acquisition strategy, where initial country business units will be introduced sequentially, followed by multiple countries introduced in parallel.
Whilst the initial scope for Transport Express was to ease the burden of transporting and reduce the risks associated with many transports and changes across complex environments, Transport Express also supports life after ‘go-live’ by facilitating interactivity with the business community to drive necessary change.
Expressed another way; Transport Express will prove its value during the build phase, but also in the production support phase. Alstom expects to find this to be significant advantage.

LogonX 2005 Released 17th October 2005 |
| |
When Basis Technologies originally
launched LogonX over five years ago, we
were hoping that the SAP community would find
it as useful and as easy to use as we did at the
time. Since then, with only minor upgrades to
the product, LogonX has proven so popular that
we continue to get multiple downloads every day,
and now are creeping up to our 5000th download.
An expanding user group of this size demands a response
from us, and so with this anniversary pending
we decided to embark on a development program
for LogonX designed to increase its usefulness
and usability.
The first phase of this development is
now complete, with
- a more modern Windows XP look-and-feel
- the ability to Group your systems simply by
drag-and-drop
- the ability to Rename your systems
We invite you to download the latest version,
LogonX 2005.
The second phase is in the pipe-line. We
are currently gathering requirements from our
valued users to enhance LogonX further to make
your life that little bit easier. |

MDR
6.30 Service Pack 1 released
5th April 2005 |
| |
Basis Technologies' announces
the release of MDR 6.30 Service Pack 1. SP1 contains
a number of fixes and enhancements focused on
usability and performance.
- The Run History report has been enhanced
to provide additional useful information to
the user. It is now possible at a glance to
see the percentage completion of the report,
giving a better idea when the report will finish.
You are now also able to get a more complete
picture of the resources currently used for
a report.
- To allow for more richness in the custom
selection screens, the "Technical Settings"
have been moved to a menu option rather than
on an application tab. This removes some previous
limitations to the custom application selection
screen.
- Report runs can now be labelled, giving more
meaning to historical runs. This simplifies
the task of navigating and isolating specific
historical runs.
- It is now possible to simply change a setting
when running a report to reduce the number of
application log messages for a run. This is
done by selecting the importance of the messages
to log. This saves valuable database space as
well as speeds up processing in the production
environment.
- A number of fixes have also been addressed
in SP1.

TE
4.6.4 Service Pack 4 released
2nd February 2005 |
| |
Basis Technologies' announces
the release of Transport Express 4.6.4 Service
Pack 4. SP 4 contains a number of fixes and enhancements
focused on useability.
- TE allows a new type of user to be configured;
an Importer. Importers are people who have authorisation
to import changes into a target, but do not
have the other responsibilities of an administrator.
Importers can be defined in a similar manner
as approvers. For example, it is possible to
allow Importers to import only "Finance"
changes.
- TE now includes a utility that is used to
simplify the process of rebuilding an SAP system
after it has been restored from a database backup.
This is useful when for example a QA system
is restored from a database copy of production.
The utility adds the appropriate change requests
to the import queue of the rebuilt system based
on the date and time the backup was made.
- A number of fixes, additional reporting functionality
and project maintenance authorisation are also
included in SP4.
For more information about service pack 4, or
to arrange a download of the service pack, please

Leading UK
utility turbo-charges their reports with MDR
8th June 2004 |
| |
Building upon an existing relationship
where Transport Express is in use, BasisTechnologies
has successfully installed MDR.
Swamped with growing and unmanageable data, BasisTechnologies
was asked to prove how MDR could save development
time, increase processing efficiency and deliver
effectiveness to custom reporting.
Maintaining custom SAP report software code forms
a substantial part of any production support budget.
An MDR pilot implementation demonstrated the added
flexibility and impact on reducing ongoing maintenance
cost; propelling the case for MDR against all alternatives.
Using the MDR solution, previous reporting developments
could be retrofitted into MDR in a matter of hours;
new capabilities could be developed faster; and
maintenance budgets re-assessed. Data volumes and
growth have also become less of a concern with MDR.
This leading UK utility has chosen MDR now as the
environment to develop a large portion of their
custom SAP reporting requirements.
Contact BasisTechnologies for more information.
