Polo Ralph LaurenRalph Lauren uses Z Accelerators to speed up SAP reporting
Ralph Lauren Corporation is a publicly traded, United States-based holding company headquartered in New York, NY. The company, through its subsidiaries, designs, markets and sells high-end men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, accessories, fragrances and home furnishings to customers worldwide. In 2014, their annual revenue exceeded $7 billion.
Ralph Lauren Corporation was suffering from slow-running, business-critical SAP financial reports – including Order to Cash, and Purchase to Pay – that were taking over 50 minutes to run, and often ending mid-flight. This left the business unable to run these reports regularly, and when they did, it required constant technical assistance.
Not only that, the company needed to be able to create new environments much faster as it expanded as a company. Despite being relatively new to SAP, large data volumes were causing system copies to run extremely slowly, delaying vital SAP project deadlines and impacting on business performance.
Still in the early stages of rolling out SAP, increasing data volumes were adversely impacting on many processes, which created a need to gain time and significantly reduce memory consumption. The single transaction of BDLS was becoming the main bottleneck in the system copy process and was taking over 2 days to complete.
Our Solutions - SnapOps & Z Accelerators
The company needed a simple solution that would allow acceleration of these reports without reliance on deep technical expertise. Armed with Z Accelerators, Ralph Lauren has accelerated its slow-running reports with impressive results.
Basis Technologies was also able to offer an instant fix by implementing System CopyGT – the simple add-on solution for SAP that speeds up BDLS performance to run in a fraction of its normal time. The business can now run the reports in 15 minutes without the need to rely on technical resources to access them.
System CopyGT has dramatically improved the time it takes Ralph Lauren to run a full system copy. What had previously taken over 2 days now completes in just hours – saving more than 40 hours of wait-time with each system copy, helping the company to rapidly create new environments to support their business growth.
