TarkettTarkett uses ActiveControl to manage agile SAP development and daily releases
Tarkett is a world leader in the production of innovative flooring and sports surfaces. The company operates in over 100 countries and own brands such as Johnsonite, Rhinofloor, Poligras and EasyTurf.
Tarkett’s products are used in high profile locations such as the Empire State Building, international sports grounds and Marks & Spencer stores nationwide.
Tarkett needed to merge transitions from several regional SAP systems into one central core system for the company’s ECC deployment program. In this they faced a triple challenge, all whilst maintaining Business As Usual (BAU):
Replicating the SAP changes made at regional system level on the future global SAP system
Synchronizing SAP changes across multiple regional systems
Building a global core SAP system
To do this the company required consistent SAP governance and a co-ordinated, centralized SAP team across different regions.
Compared to competitive tools, Tarkett found ActiveControl to offer a better return on investment – easier to implement, simpler to use and flexible enough for the project’s complicated needs.
Our Solution - ActiveControl
The implementation took only a week with minimal impact on the business and a flexible subscription licensing model. Users of the automation tool were trained in half a day. Tarkett now has 100 ActiveControl users moving 200 SAP transports each month on BAU lines.
By using ActiveControl every day, Tarkett is able to run more frequent SAP release cycles, weekly, if not daily, to be able to respond faster to its business requirements. The automation tool ensures that the company can maintain the speed safely. Tarkett especially finds the tool invaluable for object sequencing and highlighting dependencies, ensuring that there are no risky objects being moved into production, maintaining a stable SAP development system and continuous delivery.
