Mass Data Runtime is Certified as Powered by SAP NetWeaver
Basis Technologies International (BTI) today announced that its Mass Data Runtime version 7.0 has achieved SAP certification as powered by the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform. The powerful accelerated processing capabilities of Mass Data Runtime enable customers to achieve dramatic performance improvements when running ABAP™ programming language code that processes large volumes of data.
The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that Mass Data Runtime 7.0 has achieved powered by SAP NetWeaver status as an add-on to SAP ABAP 7.0 for the SAP ERP 6.04 application.
MDR is a software solution that enables ABAP code that processes data, including standard SAP applications, to do so more quickly through distributed processing - effectively sharing the work across multiple CPUs. Mass Data Runtime customers have achieved performance improvements between two and 300 times, depending on available processing capacity.
BTI's technical director Craig Oliver is confident that customers will be impressed by the performance improvements that can be achieved.
"Every customer who is using Mass Data Runtime is impressed with the performance increases we have been able to achieve," said Oliver. "So much so that the question in their mind hasn't been 'if' it works or 'how well' it works, but 'which program can we accelerate next?'. These are exciting times given that the product is now certified by SAP and can now also accelerate standard ABAP code."
- Accelerated processing, dramatically reducing execution times
- Shorten batch jobs to prevent over-run into the next online day
- Speed up transactional processes (e.g., payment run)
- Improve SAP data extractions and loads through distributed processing with the ability to pause and restart processes so that data can be checked mid-conversion
- Accelerate ABAP-based interfaces to improve data throughput
- Enable faster ad-hoc reporting and analysis (including ABAP queries)
"We have worked with a number of very large customers to develop and prove Mass Data Runtime," said Phill Sly, CEO, BTI."Our customers include utility companies such as EDF Energy and retail giants that have vast data volumes. Mass Data Runtime has become an indispensable tool for them, enabling data processing times to be slashed to acceptable levels. One of our recent customers saw a report that previously ran in approximately 12 hours completed in just 20 minutes after the Mass Data Runtime conversion"
"Big Data is on everybody's lips - every organization is dealing with much larger data volumes than they were five years ago,"continued Sly. "Mass Data Runtime provides an easy and cost-effective way to address part of this challenge and it can be implemented in a matter of days."
